Cross country hiking run.... sounds like very intensive huh! Indeed, it is an intensive/extreme activity. What we gonna do is to hike (or run if you are fit enough to) over 3 highest hills in Penang island. The trekking trail distance is about 20km, and may take up 3 to 5 hours to complete. Well thats is depending on your speed then.
We shall expect muscles, knee joints pains after that hiking run on 1st Sept 2007. :D Then again, for crazy hikers like us we are actually 'enjoy' the pain and forget not the memorable experience.
We never tried a long distance hike for more than 3 hours so far; and therefore ThyeVen suggested to do a so called intensive training. Here is the plan;
Teluk Bahang - MukaHead - Teluk Bahang - Keracut - Teluk Bahang
First part - MukaHead estimated 3 hrs for to and return
Second part - Keracut estimated 1.5 hrs for to and return
Note the estimated time we set earlier, first part ... we set 3 hours for to and flow; but we made it in 1.5 hours. Ahem ... good staminees ma, sure break record loh! Hahaha :D
Then we rest at the beach side for 15 mins (may be more than that) before we headed back to Teluk Bahang and continued our keracut hike.
Keracut was being estimated to be completed in 1.5 hours, however; we finished the trek in 1 hour 20 mins. Not bad though, all of us had fun from the hike. Even the back trekking was tough for me. As i was exhausted from Muka head trek already. Hua.... i was so tired.
And guess what?? We came back to the starting point at 1pm!! We estimated to be there at 3pm initially, haha! 2 hours faster than we thought! Not bad leh!! And..... after the hike of course not to be missed, a good lunch.
We had our lunch in KFC and walked around in Island Plaza for 2 hours, can you guys believe that?? We even walked into Fitness First gym centre to check out the price. Hua! Hua! Hua! the club is so bloody expensive neh! Here is the price;
Premium program
Admin fee - $199
Monthly - $249
Minimum subscription for 4 months
Lifestyle program
Admin fee - $199
Monthly -$200
Minimum subscription for 12 months
Can you guys compare the price with Clark hatch please!! If i would pay this amount, i rather choose Celebrity club in Gurney Plaza. The environment is far more better than Fitness First.
The one that i joined is a 'smaller' club, but to me its still ok lah. If you would prefer a 20 treadmill machines in a row then you dont opt for Clark Hatch, they dont have that.
I would expect to join a free trial in Fitness First, i like the RPM cycling challenge class. Haha, may be i should go and 'lau chiak' one day.
Our tradition, before... Oh yea new faces this round.
From left - ThyeVen, me, Lawrence, Wong, Leong and Kelvin
