This is the trail that we drove up from our apartment.
On the way we passed by a few farms - strawberry, bee and vegetable as well as farm houses
This ugly rubber shoes was bought only for this Irau hike, you will need to scroll down to understand why i did not wear my hiking boots.

We need to pass by the BOH tea plantation to reach the hill side. Here we took some nice shots of this GREEN piece of land.

Here we are, reached the Brinchang hill side, but we are actually hike from Brinchang to Irau.

The ancient jungle, sorry my camera not providing a good quality photos, but i tried to edit the colors and contrast level to make it look more 'attractive'.
Everntually, you cant really see the tree trunks as its all covered by 'grass' or some Parasitic plant - 寄生植物. So the trees in the jungle looks ALL GREEN.
The hiking trail... er infact there is no trail lo. We need to cross over the trees to reach the top. So this 2km SHORT hike made me felt more tired than my 'normal' 20km hike in Penang.
If you refused to cross over the trees, its ok... sink your legs in the muddy pool instead. Now you know why i did not wear my hiking boots!
Most of us was energetic and still have a lot of fun at the first 2 hours.

Some of the steps are >1 feet and 'short legger' like me, need to use up alot of muscle strength from my legs to climb up. Thats the painful part.

Still posing even under the rain!! Haha, wearing rain coat is important as we need to avoid from getting wet. Once you get wet, the weather on the highland + the wind will make you feel too cold. My hands and legs were actually felt cold -nearly cramp liao. Dont under estimate local highland weather.

From this point to the peak, we walked for another 1.5 hrs. And there was the place when i slipped my left leg and hit my knee and chest on the tree trunks. I felt so painful until i couldnt talk. :-(
Whoa.... it took us > 3 hours to reach this peak, finally we are here.

After long hours hike, we didnt take any more photos on our way back until we reached the ground. It took me 8 hrs to reach.... OMG, my legs wants to patah liao :-[

Conclusion:
This indeed was a great trip for me. This 2km hike took me 8 hrs to finish, yes i know i am very slow hiker. To convince ppl that i am not the slowest coach - I was in the first group who reached the top. Then again, i was tired with my legs as i used up most of my energy to climb; no more strength for me to use when coming down. I walked very slow and that used up alot of time. Plus we were walking under HEAVY SHOWER. So that make me walked even slower.
Mak asked me whether i will come again.... hehe, my answer was "not any more within 2008, 2009 may be.' :D My next target would be MAXWELL HILL, need to do some study before i go.
Food and water are essential, and rest a day before the hike is very important. We were tired as we headed to Cameron from Penang at 4am and straight away continue with the hike until 730pm on the same day.
The next trip i will prefer to make it to 3D2N rather than 2D1N, getting enough rest a day before the hike really make alot of different. Well, do not compare me to those super extreme hikers...... i am just a beginner for hiking, i will continue to hike and make me grow from beginner to intermediate level.
5 Weeks to go for my KOTA KINABALU trip. More massive training coming up!!
