I was told about this movie from my colleague. I didn’t know this is already showing in cinema. Before knowing it is played by Brad Pitt, I had already very interested to learn about this drama. This movie basically not only focus fully on Benjamin but also potrait alot about the 2 ladies namely Queenie, and Daisy.

Benjamin was born old, in the weird reverse aging mode and his mother died after he was born. He was abandon by his father - Mr. button to an old folks home. Queenie, a guardian from New Orleans who alws wanted to have her own baby; she found him at the entrance of the old folks home and decided to him. She named him as Benjamin and loves him as his real mother.

Benjamin growing up in the reverse order where he goes younger as his age increases. Deep inside his heart, he is just a child and thinks like a child; behaving like a child and of course, he likes to play with gals! He was amaze when he met her – Daisy (grand child of one of the members who staying in the old folks home). Daisy used to visit her granny over the weekends. Of course, Benjamin never missed the chance to play with her and Daisy likes him too. Just may be she didn’t really realized that.

The adult Daisy was active in her dancing career. Everything was great until she met with an accident in Paris. Things changed after the major accident, she broke her legs and she can never dance on stage again. Benjamin knew about it and flew to Paris to see her. Due to many reasons, Daisy refused to see him and asked him to leave. He did not leave but stayed in Paris and was monitoring her until she is recover. She never realized that and he never tell her.
After years, she came back to New Orleans to see him. And now both of them met each other in their mid term – Benjamin aged 49 and Daisy 43; almost same age, physically and mentally. They fell in love and moved in, and form a family with their daughter - Caroline.
Benjamin realized that Daisy needs a real husband and Caroline needs a real father. And such, he let go all his assets that he inherited from his late father - Mr. Button. He sold everything he has and saved all the money for her and Caroline. He walked away from Daisy, again.
Daisy understands his intention as it would be burden for her to take care of 2 kids when Benjamin grows younger. They stayed apart for many years, he travelled to many places and never get in touch with Daisy and his daughter. When Daisy aged 60+, Benjamin came back to see her. She was amazed by his 20 yr old look. I remembered this very well from the movie.
Daisy was looking at him: "Oh Benjamin, I am an old lady now."
He hugs her in his arms and said: "Daisy, I never stop loving you."
As Daisy grows older, Benjamin turning to a younger child. She takes care of him until his very last moment. The moral of this story tells me … (*you are allowed not to agree*) sometimes we don’t get to choose what kind of life we want. All we need to do it to accept it, overcome the barriers unconditionally. Of course, you still can feel sad like what Benjamin does. But he never give up and continue to move on. He sailed on the ship, fought in the war and travels the world. He loves Daisy, and no matter what he still loves her.

When you love someone, you love someone, no matter what. If you choose to end the relationship for some reasons; it only tells that you love yourself more than you love him or her. True love is you will love the person more than anything, if you dont, it only means this person doesnt deserve you.
